Holiday park granted year-round licence

An Angus holiday park has bagged an all-year-round touring caravan licence.

The park, Barry Caravan Park, near Carnoustie, currently operates from February 15 to January 31.

But the park’s licence will now be amended so that it can operate all year round.

The site currently has 61 touring pitches for those wanting to park their camper on the site, but it is not set to be increased. During the meeting, the applicants insisted that there was a demand for the site to extend its hours.

Site operator Andrew Young said: “We’ve had multiple people wanting to stay on the park. They would like to use to six months or 12 months, their own touring caravan on the park.

“So this would allow us to be open that extra two weeks of the year.”

It would cost campers £2000 to stay on the site for 12 months, and £1100 for six months.
